Bird Watching

Because  Lake Guerrero  has so many diverse habitats, the opportunity to view a great variety of  birds nesting here are numerous!  During the spring and fall migration, the enormous size of Lake Guerrero has a funneling effect on the path the birds must take.  Which again gives the birder a rare opportunity to view many species not normally seen together.

A few minutes away from our club, you will find a protected natural area where you can watch and learn about hundred different bird species. The expedition (one session a day) are on foot and led by an experienced guide, on a single session you will cover a distance of two kilometers while watching birds. In the beginning of each expedition we will provide a written list of the existing birds so you can recognize and photograph all the species you observe.

Once you start watching birds, you will want to keep a list of the ones you have seen. This is called a life-list. You will add to this list each time you identify a species you have never seen before. The only other things you really need are a pair of binoculars and a field guide- a book that will help you identify your new friends.
